The Reason For Rain Poem by Christon SykesSmith

The Reason For Rain

Every time it rains a piece of my life breaks off
The pieces of my life bombard me with tears that i don't shed
The lightning is the physical pain and assault that i endure
The thunder is me screaming when I am left by my dad
Or
Hit by my mom
Or
Vice versa
The raging seas are my anger so are the blazing fires
Crashing against the shores
But
The water that fills the seas are my unshed tears
The fire is my rage out of hatred not sadness
I will burn everything in sight leaving the land like my life
Destroyed and full of pain
The swirling tornado is my confusion
All my emotions mixed together
I can’t recognize the good from the bad
So I destroy it all.
The storms help me sleep knowing that something else shares my pain
I don't have to hold the heavy burden on my own
I am not the only one with pain
There are many other just like me who are staying sane
But I seem to be the only one it drives insane
I'm glad I have the storms that pour down rain
To be continued...
