The Rebel Woman.... Poem by RIC BASTASA

The Rebel Woman....

i just read the case of AJ
18 years old, who left her parents
going with the activist group
recruiting more youth to their
rebellious cause.

the parents who raised her
suffered much, missing her,
unable to accept what is happening
to her, dreading home, and
forgetting who they are,

when she was a baby her mother
remembers how cute she was
her father watched her so that
no mosquito could bite her
very sweet skin

now she has turned into a woman
an amazon, a rebel for her own cause,
fighting for her country
in her own anti-government stances,

sometimes some parents who had no
kids of their own feel so lucky
not having raised a kid who thinks
that they are wrong and demons
in their own kind of peaceful situation.
