The Root Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

The seed of Wisdom sown in childhood
In Life, brings forth a nourishing tree
That later will bear fruit that is good-
The foundation of Character for you and me.

A tree Years have grown through Experience,
The guidance and lessons imparted well,
The Roots go deep in the soil of Persistence
Watered by Faith, where true Strength dwells.

Without it, one lives in abject Poverty
Wretched and lost without lasting wealth.
For riches are not found in abundance of Money,
In vastness of lands, success, fleeting health.

That Root will find soil only in the Family
Nurtured early with Affection and Care,
The nucleus of all that we call Humanity
Is the Soil that will grow Wisdom there.
