The Skinny On Fat Kids Poem by Tammy Arthur

The Skinny On Fat Kids

You call me names you say
and do hurtful things

Don’t you know I have feelings to?
I see the way people look at me

I'm a person just like you
why can’t you see that?

Why do you enjoy hurting me so?
you want me to cry
you want me to run and hide but I won’t

I’ll hold my head high
and stand my ground
I’ll look you in the eye

You can say what you want
but this fat kid is here to stay
so go ahead and pass the cake
