The Sky Of Stone Poem by Lex Leon

The Sky Of Stone

Above, the scorching magma flows,
Stones substituted drops of rain
Eyes are sealed on the faces of the Holy
They’re stoned in marble, robbed of their glory
The sacred temples are destroyed, turned into ruins
Infected are the wounds, vaccines are lost completely
We did not judge but judged were simply
Convinced were by persuasions of the pseudo-prophets
We followed them by thousands
With each step becoming spiritually poor
We sold the sky for wine and bread, what for
Ahead, the arches of caves instead of the firmaments
Underground floods instead of tender streams
Screams of the doomed replacing sounds of nature
Consumed again in venture, compellent by our greed
Turned into animals of unknown breed
Instead of hearts – a rocky fragment
Instead of smiles – a madman’s grin
Why have the Gods tormented us with wrath
Now gone the sky and heaven, darkness in the path
I raise my eyes up high and see the scorching magma flows
The sky just vanished, still raining stones…
