The Smallest Tombstone Poem by Nick krakana

The Smallest Tombstone

Rating: 5.0

On a late summers day
I did stop by to see
This place we go into eternity

As I looked for him
Large headstones lined the rows
Kept me missing his repose

Surely I must be in the right place for he
I know this is the cemetery
Many headstones elaborate as they may be

Did not suit my brother's personality
Then I spotted a space amidst the rows

There was a dip like an ocean wave
Like spotting a familiar face in a crowded place

And there was Mikey's smiling face
Looking up at me the way he used to be
The smallest tombstone in the cemetery
