The Soul Searches Poem by Priscilla Colon

The Soul Searches

When the soul searches for the future
She can no longer take the torture
For sin is what creeps beneath
She smiles at what is left of her undermined tells
The thought of what the darkness holds
She perceives this perfect touch of ones true self
The end is what is near
She is dying her wings no longer outstretched
The fall that has been taken can no longer be repressed
She takes her lover's hand and meets his eyes
For he is the only one who truly sees what is underneath
She has been touch by evil her faith is sealed
Down under is what waits for them
She has been waiting centuries for this
Choose between light and dark
She finally sees her true path
The room is getting smaller
She can feel the pain within, all the sorrow
Someone let her go
She can no longer fight off her demons
Dreaming of a place that does not exist
Can it be that this is what the soul has been searching for?
