The Stand-Up Poet
I stand before you
Clean and sober,
No doubt some of you already wishing
That it's over,
If that's true, bear with me
For some of my lines may be funny,
If you find them so,
Please give money,
Those who don't, and won't relent,
Should find that time in the bar
Is time well spent.

I have been invited to read by some musicians, and am gathering my courage. It can be a cruel business, especially for the audience.
