The Stars Won'T Remember / A Single One Of Us Poem by Shalom Freedman

The Stars Won'T Remember / A Single One Of Us

The stars won’t remember a single one of us
They won’t know or remember us at all-

They’ll go on
In their own crazy ways
Glowing themselves into black death
Colliding and combining
Across aeons
In Darkness deeper
Than we can ever know,
In heat and light
We cannot bear to be near-

The stars will not know us
And we cannot come close to them either.
