The Station Poem by Akua Achampong

The Station

Rating: 5.0

I stop at the station,
I stand,
I wait.
But time keeps ticking and its getting late.
i hear the train now coming fast,
now trudging along.
Moving slowly past.

I don't want to get on for i know where it leads;
it takes me to a place that lies only in dreams,

But the stars are bright and the sky is clear
And i know now that there's nothing to fear.
Yet as i step aboard i am filled with sorrow
Beacause for me there is no tomorow.
