The Stranger! Poem by Afnan Bhimani

The Stranger!

I lived in the upper reaches of the river,
White satin of moon floating all over.
Shinning sun on the petals of the flowers,
Accompanying them; I contently spend hours.
Out of blue; rising from the water,
Stepped out a storm; riding from the lower reaches of the river!
He was tastefully dressed in a simple style,
With a graceful bearing & a charming smile.
With million beats knocking my heart; we gazed at each other,
Like a carted leaf; I was wandering for shelter..
In the spark of his soul; I kept burning bright,
The warmth of his arms; on cold winter nights.
Within the wall of his heart; slowly I stepped inside,
Amazingly found him; awaiting me open wide.
He lent me his light; until I became a molten rock,
Moulding me into a ‘Ruby’; a gem of luck!
