The Stream Poem by Vera Sidhwa

The Stream

The Stream

I sat beside the stream,
With a blade of grass in my mouth.
This stream hissed words,
They were heard east, west, north and south.

This stream was not like the others,
It's route took you to somewhere,
Somewhere you were not supposed to know,
Somewhere out there, where the stream's trees blow.

I wanted to find out the meaning of this stream.
And it came to me in a techni-rainbow dream.
The stream spoke about the stories of my life.
The stream mentioned love and strife.

This stream told me to be like it.
Just calm, smoothing and flowing just like it.
