The Sun Will Shine Again Someday Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

The Sun Will Shine Again Someday

if you're heart is broken
and you're feeling down and blue
and don't know what do do
and all your friends
seem to fly away
and your heart breaks every day
and all the doors seem closed to you
and the open ones close quickly too
and it seemd to rain on your days off
and your windshield wipers don't wipe
and even your dog looks at you funny
Like you've somehow let him down
and even the 'be Happy' faces people send
seem to wear a frown
and you suddenly notice in a crowded room
you're the only one around
and you feel so low your almost on the ground
and even the worms skip town
then your heart is surely broken

When you get to the toll
and you don't have your token
and you're out of cigarettes
and you haven't even been smokin'
and the black cats seem sneer
and always cross your path
and the bums you pass on the street
pull down their hats
you step on glass and realize
you're not wearing shoes or socks
and even walking accross the street
feels like stepping on glowing rocks
and the birds you throw breacrumbs to
turn their beaks and leave
And the cashier you gave a twenty
gives you change of a ten
then your luck might be at its end

But one day you tell yourself
its going to turn around
and you call out for an answer
and don't even hear a sound
and you pray to God and try to do
your best and have faith
that you'll one day have a rest
You know in your heart
You're being put through some kind of test
You've been through the mill
But you're still somehow intact
Well, something new
might be brewing
you might have to stick around
for a little while longer
Maybe in time
You'll begin to feel stronger
And if so maybe the clouds
will begin to go away
and life might smile on you again
some long awaited sunny day.

And if it ever does
you know this true
Happiness won't be lost on you
and if you should ever meet
the one meant for you
you'll be in love
Your dream will have come true
