The Swing Poem by Suresh Kumar EK

The Swing

Rating: 4.5

Sitting on the swing
I was totally lost.

And a dizzy thinking
Due to excess whirling.

Absolutely ignorant
About the surroundings.

Even though convinced
I did not land on earth.

The swings alternated
It kept on swaying
With increased inertia.

They went up and up
Was going fast and fast.

The legs are above the head
The sky is calling back and forth.

The earth is spinningaround
Here the circle is complete.

Head down and arms outstretched
I'm being thrown away
Far away to mother earth.

The navel is flagged
I am just becoming a kid.

Under the new vast skies
It expands and falls into light.
