The Thin Line Poem by Lynne RBC

The Thin Line

Rating: 5.0

I met a soldier.
He said
there is a
thin line
between
being brave
and scared.
In war
and love
all's fair.
There
is always
as anywhere else,
love and hate,
doubt and faith,
anger and bliss.
I may hit
the enemy
or I'll miss.
You may
hear from me
less
and less.
A longer time
I might be dead,
he said.
Can't you see
it's there -
between us.
That thin line.
It's the same.
He makes it look
so straight
and plain.
But I can't
see the line
or perhaps
I've drawn mine
- crooked.

Nothing is straight but be brave.
