The Voice Poem by Maisha AbdulRahman

The Voice

Its sound, like a melody
Its richness like honey
Always on my mind
And it brings sunshine
Though it calls at night
Then with all my might
I run, I search, I wonder in places
Entangled with tiny laces
Now I trudge down in despair
Wishing I had enough air
So I could find this treasure
That filled my thoughts with pleasure
At every bit of leisure
Yes, yes, yes! , it calls me in the ear
Now, I feel it, its soo near
Finally I get to stay with you
Even if its through the noon
And see how best we can woo
Whoops! , was it just a dream?
which can’t persist in this realm?
Why all these endless fantasies
With which I make ecstasy
But maybe, just maybe this voice really exist
Id forever hold on to it
Cos am tired of being lonely
And left alone in this valley
So id stick to the beautiful voice

This poem is beautiful! Wow, this is the consummate lover searching for the other half.'It sounds like a melody.'
