Tomorrow's Dawn Poem by Maisha AbdulRahman

Tomorrow's Dawn

/

As I close my eyes
My lashes get stack
My tears could cause a lifelong flood
My heart beat could cause deafening
My silent cries could break my soul
I pray for sleep, its engulfed with night mares
As I open my eyes
A vibrant day
The beautiful glowing sun
The flamboyant birds
The morning star
Yes, yet another beautiful day
My lord permits me to see
I shell myself
With vibrant smiles to suite the day
Believing there is no other way
Till when I finally lay back
With those bitter sweet memories
My so called solemn promise to stay
And still I left
My so called first love
But yet you were the last
Your word to hold my hand
Was pure deception
Then I close my eyes again
And I pray fervently
That the dawn of tomorrow liberates me
From this fear of having to fall
Cos it really hurts to slip,
fall and yet can’t get back on your feet….
