The War Poem by Nemanja Pavlovic

The War

What does it mean?
What is it behind this short word?
Why does it sound so evil?
Why does it have power to change the world?

Does anybody know the answer,
Or we all live in a dark.
Can small man change something,
Or he can only hope for ˝Noah's Ark˝.

Who starts and plans the war?
Are those people cruel or insane?
War doesn’t bring us any good,
Only enormous misery and pain.

Some people want to rule,
They don’t stop no matter what happens.
The end justifies the means,
And they are able to use all destructive weapons.

War doesn’t have to be destructive,
It can be only in man’s head.
Sometimes only one word can harm,
Or force us to do something bad.

When someone does something bad to us,
We first want to strike back.
Is it good to start ˝the war˝?
Maybe good old days will never come back.

Every war ends with peace,
But how long will it last?
Some people can forget bad things,
But some are slaves to their past.

War can change our future.
And it’s a big part of our history.
We only know some written facts,
But the real true is eternal mystery.
