The Window Poem by Dallis Gibson

The Window

I am everywhere, stuck in the walls of the house just waiting to be used or looked out of.
Today I was opened because little Jimmy was hot. And I was drilled by bugs and birds passing by.
It hurts don’t they understand! I hope that little Jimmy was cooled off by the breeze!
I wish I could fight back! I am just used and get mistook for a flight path all the time!
Ah! How I wish to let Jimmy become a flight path see how he likes it! I bet he will cry like a baby!
Sometimes during the day he rubs his oily face and hands all over me! I look terrible after that!
Then he proceeds to breathe on my and draw stupid shapes and designs! Why can’t he leave me alone?
Why can’t he just look out me like a normal kid? Why can’t he treat me well and leave me be in peace like a normal window?
