The Word Love Poem by Dorsey Baker

The Word Love

Baby I don't use the world love
without thinking
If my ship is sailing
If my ship is sinking

Baby sometimes it looks like
love is just another game
that people play
Not really meaning
nothing that they say

Baby don't use the word love
unless it comes from your heart
and then
not unless it comes
from the deepest part

Baby I don't use the word love
unless I mean it deep and true
Baby I don't use the word love
without thinking of you
