The Writer's Gift Poem by R K Summers

The Writer's Gift

Rating: 5.0

I recreate the world and give it texture.
I reshape every sound and give it form.
I bring life to skeletons in a string-bound notebook.
I pick up my pen, and my children are born.

I am their mother, their sister, their wife,
I am the goddess who brought them to life
One swift stroke, and three gentle ones after
The hunger is real, but I cannot write faster!

Every heartbeat a memory, every whisper a song,
Every pen stroke a footprint to lead you along
A world without limit, a sea without shore
I'll lead you to places you never dreamed of before

My children are waiting to guide you this way
A trickster, a monster, a queen of the fae
A rhyme, a riddle, every book is a track,
All you must do is never look back.
