The Wrong Some Adults Do

Rating: 5.0

The wrong some adults do.

The internet is full of news
Teenagers are committing crimes
Everyday
How can a young mind do this?
We wring our hands in despair
And say.

Whose fault is it, I wonder
Why do they appear so evil
I often think.
There is no school in the
Mother's womb that teaches to do
Those wrongful kind of things.

Adult material to view on the net?
The ‘DIY' instructions on how to make
a bomb?
To peddle drugs and guns to fire?
Luring young ones for their own
Sadistic pleasure?

It's some cruel adults who for personal gains
Set the trap, in their spider's web and wait
For them, to catch
They convince and coerce young ones
To follow them, a sinister plot
They hatch.

Beware adults, as the net takes over
Our lives, the wrong information can
Act like a deluge
Drowning a vulnerable young one's
Mind and soul so that nowhere
Can he find refuge.

Pitfalls of the overuse of the net, do inform
With wrong kind of information, themselves
Let them not surround.
Or else a desensitized mutated generation
Of monsters the world will have
All around.

The net we cannot control the whole wide world
We cannot change but what can be done,
Singlehandedly.
Is to monitor with patience and care
The young ones who live in our
Very own family.

An insightful piece, well articulated and nicely penned with conviction. Some of the ills of info-age are well depicted in the poem. Thanks for sharing Sunanda.
