There Is No God Poem by Bob Gotti

There Is No God

Rating: 3.5

There is no God these men contend, no one who reigns above all men.
No one has created you and me, the big bang created all that we see.
There’s no one who’s sitting in authority, over all the lands and the sea.
And there is no God who sits above us, one in whom you say you trust.

There is no Heaven above the sky; a special place to go when you die.
And there is no Hell down below; a wicked place where unbelievers go.
You will simply die like all of us, and just like all men, return to the dust.
For there simply is no God at all, and that thought is indeed quite small.

This is what all those men claim, all those men, who reject His Name,
That is the name of God’s Only Son; who came to earth for everyone.
But why do all these men complain, if our faith in God is that insane?
And why do those men hold fast to, a distorted belief that’s so untrue?

If they think our faith is so dumb, where do they think they came from?
For many of them, it’s not even clear, why on earth they’re even here.
And most of them don’t even know, when they die, where they will go.
The answers are in The Word friend, about our beginning and our end.

But God’s Truth those men despise, and so they clutch onto futile lies.
Believing they are not accountable, they go on living their life as a fool.
However, when all is said and done, they will all meet God’s Only Son.
Then they’ll know that their Creator, could have also been their Savior.

ah! ! ! Controversial issues about GOD, Religion and Spirituality! ! ..how can i be left behind? ? Now don't go sayign wat does a 19 yr old know about GOD...i'll tell you wat i know...GOD is all powerful...but he is not all responsible! ! he's given us this world...given us the freedom and given us the wisdom....i think a lot of us have only embraced the freedom! ! For me there is no point in religion except that it is a means to attain spirituality...thus i don't believ in preaching because spirituality cannot be showed to another person...one can only attain it out of one's own will... As for the religious wars...i believ that poetry hound is right! ! Religion cannot be forced...it cannot be made a public affair out if...it's not a government that needs to be followed! ! Let's keep religion very personal...and that will be the end of wars! ! There's is a very interesting line by Gandhi...he says...'I'm a Citizen Of the World And My Religion Is Humantiy' Now i would not want to contradict any person or go against any religion but i have somethign to say...The Vedas are beyond Religion and they contain knowledge of the world which is relevant in times gone by and times to come. I have never read the vedas, but from watever i have been taught of them they help me lead a more fulfilling life....i don't think it's even important to read the vedas or know of them...if we lok inside us and see wat's going on around us...quetsion ourselves at every step in life...we'll have the vedas within us! ! In the end i'd just like to say...be good and be true - to yourself and to others! ! And stand up for wat you believ in but never stand aginst something u don't know about, Question yourself more than other! ! Make allowance for other people doubting! ! Love yourself and Other equally! ! Things will automatically fall into place! ! LuV VidZ

Well, I can see the spade here. Truer words have rarely left your mouth in the circus of P/H. When I saw the title I thought for a second that Gott(i) had lost it. Thank God he hasn't. H

Religious wars are because of me? Quite the contrary. If more religious people could laugh at themselves and recognize the fact that there is more than one path to God, there would be far fewer wars.

Poetry Hound...that was so off base and very racist. It is because of you that we have religious wars. Besides that good poem Mr. Gotti

Hey Bob, why do you think God created so many religions? Maybe he wasn’t thinking straight and didn’t anticipate how annoying they would be, always running around claiming they’re the only way. It’s not like any of them can prove it. I believe God would be pleased if we formed a single religion out of the best parts of all the existing ones. For instance, Buddhism could contribute serenity and peacefulness. Judaism could contribute lox & bagels and personal injury lawyers. I think Christianity should contribute the music. No, not those cheesy Christian rock bands. Gospel music, man! Er, I don’t think we need anything from Scientology – well, maybe some Chick Corea CDs. And one thing’s for sure: Islam will just HAVE to contribute all those virgins you get after you die.
