There Is Too Much Of Myself Poem by Shalom Freedman

There Is Too Much Of Myself

THERE IS TOO MUCH OF MYSELF

There is too much of myself
Too much of me
I am everywhere
Words upon words upon words
Connecting and commenting
Reviewing and defending -

I would like a rest
I would like to hear myself forever be quiet
To never have to say or write anything else again

Small and quiet and lonesome and alone
Unheard unknown unread unlistened to
A little quiet secret on the edge of nowhere
Forever unheard.
