They Think He's Dead Poem by Henry Winslow

They Think He's Dead

Rating: 5.0

He left his family
He left his infant son
Who he will never know

He was an alcoholic
And he liked to bet
He couldn't hold a job
He was stuck in debt

They were getting evicted
So he had no choice
He couldn't bear the sadness
In his women's voice

The baby was crying
And he couldn't think
So into desperation
He began to sink

He got the idea
Stuck in his head
To dissappear
And now they think he's dead

. This is really a sad poem...with a very surprising ending. Morbid..(but, I hate to admit it..I found the ending..kinda funny!) Question? ? Why didn't he just get a job and quit gambling + drinking! ! Instead of disappearing. 'What a Conflict Avoider...he is! I pity the poor wife, he left behind! (The louse!) : -) Deanna xx
