Things Of Essential Importance Poem by Gladys McCloud

Things Of Essential Importance

In this life wealth is nothing.
Rank is nothing.
Power is nothing.
The most important thing in our lives
is this
Whether we are good or evil in the sight of God.
The righteous shall eat the fruit of their
doings.
The way of the wicked shall fall ill
because of his or her evil ways
Faith and trust in God is an anchor which
holds.
Even with our lives we must learn that
there can be no happiness.
Until we realize righteousness and faith
go together.
Then the lesson has been learned.
Duty and blessedness are one.
In time of a wild deed and troubled times
we learn the truths and how to find perfect
proof.
In the life and teaching of the Son of God.
