Thirteen Roses, A Gift For White White Day Poem by Ronald Chapman

Thirteen Roses, A Gift For White White Day

Twelve red roses with a pure white rose in the center.
Says, 'I declare my love for you twelve fold.'
The red is desire and passion; the white is loved purely.

I simply adore you!

Do you remember?

The falling leaves
on that late October day?
That day when we first met,
The breeze. That warmed our hearts.

Do you remember?

Our long walks holding hands
under falling stars.
When we wished the same wish to come true.

Do you remember?

That sunny, warm June day.
That day you looked so beautiful in white,
That day I adorned you with a ring of gold.

Do you remember?

That special March 14th.
That day we passed our love pure on to
our baby girl Katherine.

Birthday gifts of chocolate.,
Katherine, will always receive...

Thirteen Roses, A gift for White Day.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
On Valentines Day in Korea the boys are the ones that receive gifts of chocolate and treats from the girls who love them. So what about the ladies, do they have a holiday to get showered with gifts in return? The answer is YES!

In Korea we have a 2nd holiday of love called White Day (화이트데이) celebrated on March 14 that is all about giving gifts to the girls in return for the gifts they gave on Feb 14th.
