This African Girl(Part 1) Poem by Alexander Joeseph

This African Girl(Part 1)

This african girl i cannot understand.her ways i cannot fathom.all this i cannot decipher.my heart she toys and laughs at my sadness, God knows best. I am a man and must withstand; for her love to win, i shall not rest.with thee shall i abide and my mothers call shall i neglect.surely mother would be appeased and proud, when to her threshold, i, thee bring; a true african beauty, oh those long legs and those steps created, all i relish, or is it the laughter i must relate, that caught me unaware and i seek for a second and a third that girlish grin that has awoken in me a feeling i cannot comprehend. Halt i plead and give me a say to confess these feelings i no more can hide.art thou not olive, queen of an horizon golden, the sweet smelling cidar i cherish, that conspicous lovely soul that weakens my soul and i must stay and watch: oh your beauty that out shines the lilies, the marigolds serene, the blushes of the roses.the beauty that intensifies in Gods glory, all this alas but small, your gazelle eyes the praises be given much, that enchants a longing soul, a soul begging. My head is filled, my heart is blissed.i seek only a little my dear one, that which i believe is rare, that virgin love undiluted by our worldy ways. So i beg olive, the pride of africa.let me to thy bossom have a say, let us abide and in thy fount of love reside and by the power of providence be binded in spirit and soul. Alex Joseph
