This Girl Poem by Shannon Martin

This Girl

Some may say that she is shy
Others say that she is just afraid
Everyone wonders why,
Why does this girl hide in the shade?
They would leave her alone in her room, alone by herself.
In a world she should feel safe...
She feels nothing but doom.

Everyone continues to just shake their heads
Same flowered dress everyday as she walks home from school.
She goes straight to her room and lyes in her bed.
Holding so much anger at the kids that were cruel.

How would you feel to be this girl?
Locked in a room with nothing to do
Not allowed to say how she really feels...
Not allowed to be that confident girl!
