This Handsome Old Man That I Am Poem by Shalom Freedman

This Handsome Old Man That I Am

This handsome old man that I am
Who looks at the mirror with self-satisfied vanity
Will within far less time
Than it has taken him to grow old
Be forever invisible-
Dear G-d who made me
And brought me through such a variety of faces
Will I ever look as well again in some other world
As I have in so many pasts
That are already forever gone?
