This Is America Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

This Is America

This is America
bible calls Babylon
blood on her hands
cause the guns were drawn
this is America
it's a bacteria
I got infected
until I rejected
what was projected
Separate what is real from what is fake
No matter the brainwashing it don't make
oh no, I will not follow that
oh yea, i'll give you my feedback
it's war, you are under attack
i'm here putting the world on track
telling them all
raise your head
Don't live in fear
Been dead too long
I'm finally home
where's the revolution, i'm so ready
there's human pollution, we all carry
we've been moving so far left
no one knows what way is right
this disease
it envelopes
and they know that
check the format
got it?
how they did it?
take the land, take the land
create a world, now we're all damned
pulling the plug depletes its power
reclaim what has all along been ours
