This Is Me Poem by David Gomado

This Is Me

Rating: 5.0

I left you on the way, when circumstances rose,
When negativity overtook and drew me off my path.
But as I heard afar that silent voice,
I knew that I've found myself.
I forgot the course of which I aimed And followed that which I hear was fame
But the light of peace shone on my path,
Then I realized I've found my self.
Oh Peace, where were you, when indecision crippled my head?
And lust for vain, walked in my stead.
Swayed by the wind of other voices,
I washed you away with my dark blind choices.
But yet again faith spoke her deep words to inspire,
Unlocking my spirit to reach your heart desire.
Here I stand; by morrow's bright waters I gaze,
Guess what I see; the Lords perfect will in your Face.
Yes I've truly found myself
And indeed this is ME.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was hit with seriously bad circumstances in life that got me despaired and discouraged, that I lost my self esteem. But eventually I realized that I was better off than many others I met and read of. Then I began looking deep into myself and with God on my side, I found who I was and why those things were happening to me.
