This Morning I Sing A Psalm To God Poem by Gert Strydom

This Morning I Sing A Psalm To God

Rating: 5.0

Here, early I did awake
and saw the orange-red daybreak.
Even in this dim first-light's twilight,
the sky is already dull-blue

with one snow-white cloud
hanging in the direction of Heidelberg.
One dove coo-sings and I am caught
in the greatest beauty,

It's as if God pours out His blessings,
protection and benevolence,
where as sinner I and no-one does it deserve,
as if in the beauty I see something of His face,

as if today has only the most beautiful in store,
where I long for you, my first darling.
Where with insight you do protect me,
your love is deeper that I do suspect

and this morning I sing a psalm to God,
ask that on His time He brings us together
and I know constantly and also today:
still God does rule in His omnipotence,

even if one nation rises against another,
although there is war in the East,
where it seems as if nothing can stop Lucifer,
God do turn lives and events around.
