Modern psychologists
have laboured hard
to establish the pathological
character of this state
of consciousness: to find
a place for it in the domain
of psychic hallucinations.

The mystics, however,
who discriminate so much
more delicately than their
critics between true and false transcendental experience,
never feel any doubt
about the validity of this
'sense of the presence'.

(It is the experience of a true seeker of God,
that he experiences in him the True Sense of the Presence of God)
