Thoughts -3 Delirious & Depressing Thoughts Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Thoughts -3 Delirious & Depressing Thoughts

Rating: 5.0

When my mind races like a speeding train,
Gliding over hills and dales,
Climbing up the tall coconut trees,
Fluttering around like a restless butterfly,
Gushing down like a water fall,
Swimming in the stormy seas,
Running in pursuit of material delight,
Demanding thoughts occur
Delirious,
Disturbing!

When my mind enters into a dark mode
Dwelling on frivolous matters,
Making a list of all the things
That I do not possess or
Of what I have not achieved;
Forgetting to count the blessings
Bestowed on me,
The thoughts turn bitter
Degrading,
Depressing!

When I allow the beauty of the moment, especially in nature, My mind calms and nothing but that bliss exists. Excellent poem, Geeta
