Thoughts Of A Mother Poem by Shondrika Anderson Williams

Thoughts Of A Mother

The mind of a mother travels as deep as the earth's core.
No one but a mother can understand the level of tolerate one shall allow when it comes to her babies, she's a lioness for sure.
Ready to provide for and protect her cubs by any means necessary, it's true.
From the day they are born until the day she leaves this world, for them there's nothing she won't do.
As their first teacher she instills in them basic lessons for daily use here and there.
Providing nourishment and stability in the home as she gives them loving care.
Being their personal nurse when feeling ill, she won't get much sleep.
As seeing her babies not feeling well hurts her deep.
Wishing she could take their pain until it's no more.
As the disciplinarian, she enforces punishment if necessary, yet still love is the drink she always pour.
Cooking and cleaning for her family, often denying herself time.
She just want to make her family happy, is being a great mom a crime?
The heart of a mother is as soft as I imagine the clouds are in the sky.
Thank God for mothers, I love every role involved in motherhood and I can not lie.
