Three Yellow Balloons Poem by Chris Barlow

Three Yellow Balloons

Innocent spectators watching a run
All gathered closely and all having fun
Then all of a sudden, like thunder a blast
Then after, another, it happened so fast,
Marathon runners knocked off their feet,
Moments before their race was complete
Three yellow balloons float away in the air
Leaving utter devastation and a city In despair
Blood on their hands, blood on their back
Innocent civilians of Boston under attack
Innocent people caught up in Political affairs
The casualties of Boston will remain in our prayers

I'd just like to say to the bombs mastermind
That you are a disgrace to the whole of man kind
And that you deserve all the pain and guilt that you'll get
For the deaths that they'll make sure that you never forget
One of your victims just 8 years old,
Noone knows what his future would behold
Maybe that young boy would have found the cure
To a deadly disease that one day could knock on your door
So when you're out there lay snug in your bed,
Just think of the people you've left injured and dead.
