Thrive Poem by Caroline Guedes

Thrive

Everyone looks in the mirror and says
'I'm a superhero, I'm a super model, superstar'

But the truth is we're not, at least most of us aren't
What have I done with my life so far?

I've survived. I've survived the pain life handed me
But I want to do more than survive. I want to thrive.

Who hasn't done the same thing every single day
of their pathetic, insignificant lives?

I used to say maybe tomorrow, but I was just afraid
I used to say change is hard, but I was just lazy

No more excuses, no more same day-in and day-out
Time to be who I want to be even if you think I'm crazy

All my life I've simply survived
Well, I say no more
It's time for me to thrive!
