Through The Window Of Time Poem by Sven Rhoads

Through The Window Of Time

Rating: 5.0

In this room where I stare at these walls
Portraits of what I need to achieve before me
Reminders of all I am and how far I've come
The clock peels the hours until freedom calls
From pain and misery, I have bared it all
No more to repeat the days of history
Release into the rays of the golden sun
The bottom of this hole, I can no longer fall

And I see what remains after the scene of the crash
My broken twisted frame needs to be revived
The dragon in my soul and the wolf in my heart
Cant take another moment of these sorrowed eyes

Beyond this door lies the future I've heard
But in this place is a stagnant lying storm
Rekindle a friendship from the hands of enemies
Too much of my being has been sacrificially bled
Sometimes its best to never speak a word
Only the action is needed to be reborn
I will be beside you my friend for eternity
No matter where our paths have been led

Reflecting the trials through the window of time
To better the man by tempering the soul
Its time to empty the demons from within my mind
And do the deeds that will make me whole

Oh, north star of my ancestors
Burn the light that will clear the way
Oh, mother moon of my birth
Teach me the lessons to make it all possible

I will not kneel for the gods
I will howl with the wild
The natural balance to take into my soul
I will pour my offering
I will not surrender now
What has been decided in me must be done

I like the way you call upon allies, the dragon and wolf, which are forces in your psyche but also part of nature.

Indeed thoughts of a friend are a great solace that can lift a person up and motivate him to face the future.
