Tied Inbetween Poem by Charles Nnamuka

Tied Inbetween

Rating: 2.5

This pace goes way ahead of its self
This tape goes way longer than its stretch
My own legs paces ahead of me
I still have the eyes how could they see?
Has it not over and over been already said
That success is not bought a ready made.

While I try to gather as little work as I can
I don't hold together what must fall apart
See, I loosely believe in compromise,
But‎ of education, I hold that it is paramount
Regardless, Both are beliefs nonetheless
Only a question of which is strong -more or less.

Coming from a modest home,
With modest parents,
Especially my mother who
Taught me modesty
And virtue, virtually every day
To virtuously value virtues

Lots of people do think, mistakenly,
But I'd do so only jokingly,
That one ought to hold dearly
What proceeds from a class room!
Even at the expense of another
Just as equal? -at the very least

Books and money can be cats and dogs
Of that, there is no doubt
But if we can only take a moment
To consider the essence of either,
We may then find a lamp for our feet
And a path for our guide unto priority
