Till Death Takes Over Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Till Death Takes Over

Till the death

I was speaking from earth
Really loved her from birth
I got everything from mother
But the earth was no other

Why should I dream about heaven?
That thought is desperately driven
Why at all that idea should appear?
When mother earth so loved dearly

What has she not given?
Right from shelter to food and water even
Air is totally free
And river water available in plenty

I was standing alone
Remembering only one
Whose creation we are!
Even though He is far from us

Take me away
But I would love to stay
On the place where I have taken birth
And remain loyal until the death
