Time Out: Take Me High Today Poem by Terence George Craddock

Time Out: Take Me High Today

felt
like

climbing
a mountain

leaping
from the top

or being
dropped

from summit
pinnacle top

just to enjoy the fall

want
to

avoid
arduous

climb up
easily done

drive
up

if
there is a road

if
not

easily done
the long

drop
from a plane

if
not

into
base jump

have never base jumped
never will;

enjoyed
jumping

into
lonely spaces

are crowds
queues parachuting

less
base jumping

crowd pleasers
can be paid

to jump
into observer crowds

active passive
spectator onlooker

different
head spaces

must
have been

megaphone
loudspeaker

echo calling
scenic memory

images
playing

imaginative
mind games
