Time Zones Poem by Kay Francis

Time Zones

Nine thousand miles
and twelve hours
separate us
without exaggeration
and yet,
through the mystery
of cyber-connectedness,
our hearts
melt into each other's
as words of love
pass between us.
How amazing!
Neither time nor space
can sever
the threads of desire
or loosen the laces of need
bundling our spirits together.

How I pray for your name
to appear when I
click the in-box!
How carefully
I employ the save-button,
and how I savor
each delicious message
you write to me
from my tomorrow.
You are my future.
I am your past,
waiting here
for your return,
waiting to relive
moments I've spent
wanting, needing, praying
to be in your arms again.
