Timeless Love Poem by Paul Elenora

Timeless Love

Naturally bestowed she was with charms
And a glance at her eyes was all it took
At least so you said as you searched her youthful palms
Far from cynical was the tone of your words as from a book.
As a gentle man you put down a chair and bid her sit
With every deed and speech you won her heart
But her charms time could not sustain
Even so your heart she now will not obtain

Have you ever wondered what happened to the smile
Do you ever ponder how the magic in every thing fades away with time
will her smile mean so much to you come morning
Or will it endure just for a night and be gone by morning

the roses bloom only to wither soon
Come winter the leaves turn green
But even that, summer shall steal away soon
Time and season with us do as they please
If I must ask a favor of time it would be
That love no season know
Rather upon all and at all time flow.
