Tip Of A Melting Iceberg Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Tip Of A Melting Iceberg

A child stripped away,
From birth and a childhood...
To obey,
The teaching to fraud.
And deceiving to accept to believe,
Mistakes to make...
Is a sign of weakness.
That kind of mind only knows to lie.
Cheat and deny,
Reality and the truth of it.
And if that child is born,
Into status and overwhelming wealth.
There is nothing else,
That child is taught to worship to get.

Any child stripped away,
From emotions allowed...
To express, accept and address them.
Learning it is better to please,
Others who who have achieved success...
By deceiving their misdeeds.
Unknown by that child,
Following behind in these footsteps.
Do what they know.
For approval and acceptance.

That same child may grow,
To become an adult.
Obtaining notoriety to rise and sit,
In a position of renown leadership.
Although incompetent.
But has an image the represents,
Power and all this reflects to present.

Yet...
This child only wants and wishes,
For attention not given.
But does it to get,
Knowing destruction delivers it.
Leaving many to refuse this to believe,
That child is in need...
Of mental therapy.
Long overdue.
What the years of damage,
Intentionally done to a mind like this.

"He's a narcissistic egotist.
That's and that's it."

-What appears to see.
And you want to believe desperately.
Is just the tip of a melting iceberg.
Underneath?
Could have the ability,
To flood and destroy.
With a loving every moment of it.-

"But what about the millions of people,
Made to be convinced,
This event is entertainment.
Collectively applauding.
And following along to witness,
Such a threatening nonsense."

-Have you tried or attempted,
To take candy away from addicted children? -

"Maybe...
One.
Or even two.
Those who stubbornly remain in denial."

-Try millions.
With that to do at the same time! -
