Tired, Tired, Tired Poem by Dcfizban@hotmail.com Cadywold

Tired, Tired, Tired

I lay at night alone in the dark and think of death,
The reason for living I have lost and not yet found,
I spend many nights betwixt wake and sleep,
Grinding my jaw and chewing my teeth.

Shapes and shadows move round the room,
Ghostly spectres come in and out of view,
Tricks are always playing with my mind,
Weary brain brings delusional times.

I know deep down that I am safe,
From the spooks that permeate my sacred space,
Doesn't mean that I cope and I'm fine,
With illusions running rampant round my sleepy mind.

The terrors of the night come out regularly,
Freaking me out, and undermining me,
I grip reality a few seconds too late,
Making me jump, and scaring me to wake.

I always drift to sleep but now its too late,
So tired and drained, need to get up, motivate,
Appointments and plans I need to keep,
Bit I cant help drowsing and falling asleep.

All day, everyday, the same endless grind,
To tired to do anything, drained body, soul and mind,
Nip for a nap, now and again,
Then the night time starts all over again.
