Titan Poem by Matthew Moser

Titan

Crumbling, dissolving falling away,

Stars, moon, blackened day,

When light fades,

When shadows gray,

When sand in wind blows away,

One day the desert will be no more,

There will be no ocean,

No trees,

No shore,

There will come a day when I cease to breathe,

But until then waves break on me,

Atlas, is and was to me another half,

But one day will realize the world is flat,

That all that was and seemed to be,

Was the way one day that it will be,

If life was as complex as it pretends,

Forgetting should come with unwavering relent,

But alas, some memories, some agonies refused to fade,

Even if the world were to crumble away.

But some think I think I should remember right.

Memories always come stronger in the night.
