To Blame An Older Sibling Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

To Blame An Older Sibling

Making attempts to understand,
A doing that has passed.
And years ago,
To have had taken place.
Has a purpose to want this understood.
Especially if one still reacts,
With a jealousy and envy...
Invoked and had not changed,
Since childhood.
With a doing to blame an older sibling,
For getting attention.
And all the chores to do.

"They claim I was given all the attention."

-You did.
That's why you were made to do everthing.
And accused by those younger,
For being the one older.-

"Does that make any sense to you? "

-No.
And at my age,
Not one attempt am I going to try either.
People like that,
Will always find a reason...
To excuse something they've done to do,
On those older to blame.
Remaining the same as if children.
And children will embellish their lies to tell.-
