To Go Through All This Once Again Poem by Shalom Freedman

To Go Through All This Once Again

To go through all this once again
To witness;
All the Sadness All the Pain
The not wanting to live
The fear
The sense of going mad
The desire to escape
The inability to tolerate the very idea of oneself
The sense of one's own absolute worthlessness
The feeling it has all been a waste-

To go through all this once again
And again not be able to help
And again pray and pray
For some way out both for oneself
And the suffering one- one loves-

To go through this once again
And again be powerless and helpless and angrily painfully sad.
