To Look At The World Again Poem by Shalom Freedman

To Look At The World Again

TO LOOK AT THE WORLD AGAIN

To look at the world again
To see and name
Each kind of different thing
To surround it with words
And try to capture it
As it slips away
To paint in words
To write music
To make one vast description of ‘what is’ in words.

All these are unreal dreams
Someone else must realize-
I have my own small world of feelings
I return to again and again
My little universe of fears and loves.

Outside great and far beyond any nearness I can seem
The world goes on
While I can only
Write
Inside.
